Seniors Jason Brew (Sparta) and Kyle Vanderhyde (Sparta) finished their final trip to the National Duals with perfect 5-0 records. Brew had at least one takedown in each of the three periods to pull away for a 10-2win. After getting a takedown less than a minute into the match, Vanderhyde tilted his opponent over and recorded a pin in 1:34. Also winning today was senior Rob Yahrmarkt (Sparta), who used an escape and takedown in the second period to propel him to a 4-1 victory.
The Comets return to action next Saturday, Jan. 17, when they compete at the 27th Annual Al Hanke Invitational at Elmhurst (Ill.) College. Action gets under way at 9 a.m. CT. A year ago, Olivet captured the team title.
