OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team lost its season-opener to Heidelberg (Ohio) University, 16-0, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Student Princes scored nine goals in the first half and seven more in the second half for their 16 total goals.
- The Comets' best chance to score a goal came by junior Sabrina Butler with 23:28 left in the second stanza.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Krystin Verran paced Olivet with three draw controls.
- Butler had two draw controls and a team-leading five ground balls.
- Senior Keri Hettinger and freshman Grace Forbush split time in the cage. Hettinger played the first 30 minutes and collected three saves. Forbush was in net for the second half and recorded two saves.
FOR THE STUDENT PRINCES
- Dana Dudley and Jen Kovarik each scored four goals.
- Kovarik also had a pair of assists for a team-leading six points.
- Abby Rose and Anna Winnicki netted two goals and one assist for three points apiece.
- Dudley finished with a game-high 10 shots and four caused turnovers.
- Jessica Ballow earned the win in goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Today's game also marked the first collegiate women's lacrosse game for Olivet head coach Chris Merucci.
