Women’s lacrosse team falls to Concordia-Chicago, 15-4

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team lost 15-4 to Concordia University-Chicago (Ill.) in its home-opener this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After the teams traded the first four goals of the game, the Cougars netted six straight goals to go up 8-2.
• The Comets scored with 44 seconds left in the opening half to trail 8-3 at halftime.
• Concordia opened the second half on another 6-0 run to take a 14-3 lead.
• Olivet netted its fourth goal of the game with 2:35 left.
• The Cougars capped the scoring with a minute remaining.

FOR THE COMETS

• Junior Krystin Verran led Olivet with four points on two goals and two assists, as well as three draw controls and four ground balls.
• Junior Stephanie Robinson also scored two goals.
• Junior Keri Hettinger played the entire game in between the pipes and finished with seven saves.

FOR THE COUGARS

• Anna Keller paced Concordia with seven goals and 12 shots.
• Margaret Doane and Sydney Fuller each scored three goals.
• Sonja Sorensen collected two goals.
• Fuller led all players with eight draw controls.

UP NEXT           

• Olivet is now off until Thursday, March 23, when it travels to Alliance, Ohio to play University of Mount Union at 5 p.m.
