Women’s lacrosse team defeated by Cornell, 19-2

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Olivet College women's lacrosse team fell to Cornell College, 19-2, today at Ash Park Stadium in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Rams raced out to a 9-0 lead.
• Olivet dented the scoreboard for the first time on a goal by junior Katie Ordiway, which was assisted by junior Krystin Verran.
• Cornell scored the final two goals of the opening half to take a 12-1 lead at the intermission.
• The Rams netted the first seven goals of the second half.
• The Comets scored the final goal of the game when sophomore Paige Harcourt found the back of the cage with just 58 seconds left.

FOR THE COMETS

• Olivet recorded 10 shots in the game, including two each for Harcourt and Verran. 
• Junior Stephanie Robinson had a team-best four draw controls.
• In the goal, junior Keri Hettinger made 16 saves.

FOR THE RAMS

• Emily Whitfield tallied six points on four goals and two assists.
• Sydney Cooper registered five points on three goals and two assists. She also had a team-leading 10 shots.
• Hollie Force got the win in goal, collecting six saves.
