Women’s Golf: LaMothe earns medalist honors, Olivet wins rain-shortened Monmouth Fighting Scot Spring Invitational

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Sophomore Ella LaMothe earned medalist honors to help The University of Olivet women's golf team capture the team title at the Monmouth (Ill.) College Fighting Scot Spring Invitational. The tournament was shortened the 18 holes after today's second round was cancelled due to overnight rain that made the Gibson Woods Golf Course unplayable.

- The Comets posted a 353 team score to beat Carl Sandburg (Ill.) College by eight strokes. Concordia University Wisconsin was third at 378, followed by Monmouth at 478.
- Sophomore Ella LaMothe was the medalist with an 83.
- LaMothe's round included a birdie on the par 4 No. 15 as well as eight pars.
- Senior Rayna Honsowitz carded an 86.
- Junior Rylee Honsowitz posted a 91, including a birdie on the par 4 No. 3.
- Freshman Breanna Ramos shot a 93.
- Sophomore Sedona Bonter had a 97.
- Olivet participates in the rescheduled Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree Thursday, April 11, at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana. Action starts at 1 p.m.
