Women’s Golf: Olivet finishes eighth at first MIAA jamboree

JACKSON, Mich. –The University of Olivet women's golf team started Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with an eighth-place finish at the first of four league jamborees this fall. Albion College hosted the 18-hole event at the Cascades Golf Course.

- The Comets completed their rounds with a 378 team score.
- Saint Mary's (Ind.) College took first-place by seven strokes over Adrian College, 326-333.
- Julia Lizak captured individual medalist honors with a 77.
- Sophomore Ella LaMothe tied for 24th-place with an 89 after shooting a 45 on the front nine and 44 on the back nine.
- Senior Rayna Honsowitz and junior Rylee Honsowitz scored matching rounds of 92. The younger Honsowitz sister had a team best 42 on the back nine, while the older Honsowitz had identical 46s on the front and back nines.
- Sophomore Sedona Bonter carded a 105.
- freshman Breanna Ramos was four strokes behind at 109.
- The Comets travel to Normal, Illinois, Saturday and Sunday for the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Club.
