GRANGER, Ind. – Freshman Nicole Deweyert earned tournament medalist honors to lead the Olivet College women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Playoff #1, held at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets carded a 336 team score.
- The host Belles from Saint Mary's (Ind.) College was first at 334.
- Hope College was second at 335, while Trine (Ind.) University finished fourth at 352.
FOR THE COMETS
- Deweyert was a medalist for the first time in her career with a season-best 18-hole score of 77 strokes. She was first in par 5 scoring at one-under par and tied for first in par 4 scoring at five-over par.
- Senior Laura Bacso shared third-place in the player standings with an 81.
- Freshman Taylor Elley completed her round in 88 strokes.
- Freshman Molly Morey was two strokes behind with a 90.
UP NEXT
- The second and third playoff rounds will be played next Friday and Saturday, April 28-28, at Hope's home course, The Ravines Golf Course in Saugatuck. Both rounds have a 2 p.m. shotgun start. The school with the lowest cumulative total after the 54 holes will receive the MIAA's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division Women's Golf Championships.
