Women’s golf team finishes in second-place at MIAA Jamboree #3
The Olivet College women’s golf team carded a season-best 323 team score to finish in second-place at the MIAA Jamboree #3. Hope College hosted the jamboree this afternoon at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.

SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team carded a season-best 323 team score to finish in second-place at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #3. Hope College hosted the jamboree this afternoon at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets' 323 team score was only one stroke behind Hope College. Saint Mary's (Ind.) College was third at 335, followed by Alma College, 350; Trine (Ind.) University, 359; Albion College, 366; Calvin College, 382; and Adrian College, 393.
- Megan Klintworth from Hope earned medalist honors with a 75.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Laura Bacso tied for third-place in the player standings with Megan Moco from Albion with matching 79s. Bacso had a 41 on the front nine, and a 38 on the back nine.
- Freshmen Nicole Deweyert and Ashley Folleth had identical scores of 42 on the front nine and 39 on the back nine for 81s to share sixth-place in the player standings.
- Freshman Molly Morey completed her round in 82 strokes, with a 41 on the front and back nine.
- Sophomore Hayley Cooper posted a 103.
OVERALL STANDINGS
- After three MIAA rounds, Hope has a 24 stroke lead over Saint Mary's, 963-987. Olivet sits third at 998, which is 71 strokes ahead of fourth-place Alma and 77 ahead of fifth-place Trine.
- The top four teams at the conclusion of the fall season will compete in a 54-hole qualifying tournament to determine the league's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division IIII National Championships.
UP NEXT
- The last jamboree before the season-finale tournament is Saturday at the Pine River Country Club in Alma, starting at 1 p.m. The 36-hole season-finale tournament will next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
