MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team is in second-place after day one of the 2016 Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament, hosted by the Comets and played at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets carded a 337 team score.
- Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) leads the eight-team field with a 312 and Illinois Wesleyan is second at 328. Hanover (Ind.) College is fourth at 341, followed by Cleary University, 345; Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 348; Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.), 355; and Franklin (Ind.) College, 367.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Laura Bacso had Olivet's best individual score with an 81, including a three-over par 36 on the front nine.
- Freshman Nicole Deweyert completed her round in 84 total strokes. She had three birdies during her round.
- Freshmen Ashley Folleth and Molly Morey each had an 86.
- Sophomore Hayley Cooper shot a 90.

- The second round of the tournament gets under way tomorrow morning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
