Women’s golf team is runner-up at MIAA Jamboree #1
The three-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Olivet College women’s golf team began defense of its league titles by placing second at the first league jamboree this afternoon at The Medalist Golf Course in Marshall.

The Comets had a 332 team score and trailed Saint Mary's (Ind.) College by 15 strokes. The rest of the team scores were Hope at 341, Trine at 354, Albion at 371, Kalamazoo at 377, Calvin at 389, Alma at 404 and Adrian at 412.,
Olivet had all four of its golfers place in the Top 10 of the player standings. Junior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) tied for fourth-place with an 81. Senior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) and junior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) were part of a three-way tie for seventh-place, as each shot an 83. Sophomore Lauren Campbell (Fenton) shared 10th-place with an 85.
The Comets will take a break from MIAA play this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19-20, when they participate in the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Invitational. Action at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill., gets started at 9 a.m. CT. The next MIAA jamboree is Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Macatawa Legends Golf and Country Club, which is Hope's home course.
