Women’s golf team finishes in eighth-place at Ferris State Bulldog Invitational
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in eight-place at the two-day Ferris State University Bulldog Invitational at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids. The Comets were tied for ninth after Saturday’s first round.

After posting a 339 team score Saturday, Olivet lowered its score by 12 strokes for a two-round total of 666 strokes. Grand Valley State University captured the team title. The Comets placed second among five NCAA Division III schools.
Leading the way for Olivet was senior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland), who dropped her score by strokes today with an 80 for a total of 162 strokes. Sophomore Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was second at 164 (79-85). Junior Katie Misko (Alma) completed her two rounds in 169 (89-80) strokes. Playing in her first collegiate competition, freshman Lauren Campbell (Fenton) carded a 171 (89-82). Sophomore Abby Wheeler (Grayling) tallied a 180 (91-89).
Junior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) and senior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) were playing as individual scorers. Rimmel shot a 79 each day for a 158, while McKim had an 85 each day for a 170.
The Comets will now begin defense of their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship by hosting a league jamboree Thursday, Sept. 4, at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. The event gets started at 1 p.m.
