The Olivet College women's golf team sits in second-place after the first round of the Anderson (Ind.) University Invitational at Killbuck Golf Club in Anderson, Indiana. The Comets will tee off for Sunday's second round beginning at 11:52 and continuing in eight-minute intervals.
Olivet posted a 307 team score to shatter the school 18-hole team record. The previous record was a 314 at Jon Spiess Invitational Sept. 12, 2005. DePauw (Ind.) University leads the nine-team field with a 306.
Senior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) leads the Comets with a 74. The 74 ties the individual 18-hole school record. Following Pipkin is sophomore Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) with a 76. Junior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) carded a 77, followed by junior Katie Misko (Alma) at 80 and freshman Lauren Campbell (Fenton) at 81.
Following tomorrow's second round, the Comets will host their own tournament next Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13 at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
