Women’s golf team captures team championship at Trine Invitational
Senior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) broke the individual 18-hole school record, as the Olivet College women’s golf team captured the team championship at the two-day Trine University Invitational at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

The previous 18-hole record was 74 set five different times, including twice by Pipkin.
After carding a 336 team score in Saturday's first round, the Comets lowered their score by 17 strokes for a two-round total of 655 strokes. University of Saint Francis (Ind.) was second with a 699 total. Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, who was just three strokes behind Olivet entering today's round, withdrew from the tournament.
Pipkin posted a two-day total of 151 strokes, including a school record and even-par 72 in today's round. Sophomore Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was next with a 161 (79-82). Junior Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) needed 165 (88-83) strokes to complete her two rounds. Pipkin was the tournament medalist, while Conrad was second and Rimmel was fourth to join Pipkin on the all-tournament team.
Junior Katie Misko (Alma) had a two-round total of 172 (90-82) strokes. Freshman Lauren Campbell (Fenton) finished with a 186 (91-95). Sophomore Abby Wheeler (Grayling) participated as an individual scorer, and had a 181 (89-92).
The Comets will return to Indiana this Thursday, April 9, when they play in the first round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association playoff. Saint Mary's is hosting the playoff at the Blackthorn Golf Club.
