Women’s golf team finishes in third-place at Millikin Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in third-place (out of 17 teams) at the two-day, 36-hole Millikin University Classic at the Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur, Ill.

The Comets posted a 327 team score in Saturday's first round and had a 345 in today's second round for a two-day total of 672 strokes. Illinois Wesleyan University took the team championship with a 642. DePauw (Ind.) University was second at 650. The rest of the top five were Illinois College, 675; and Lindenwood University, 682.
Junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) led Olivet with a 160 (79-81) to finish in fourth-place in the player standings. Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) and sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) each had a 171. Sanders' rounds were 81 and 90, while Rimmel had an 84 and 87. Freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) came home with a 173 (83-90). After shooting a 92 yesterday, junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) improved by five strokes today for a 179.
Senior Jennifer Lambarth (Saline) was first among the 26 individual scorers with a 166 (82-84).
The Comets will now turn their attention to putting the finishing touches on their second straight MIAA championship next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6; at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. After three league rounds, Olivet has a 41-stroke over Saint Mary's (Ind.) College.
