Ferris State led the 11-team field with a two-day total of 614 strokes. The Comets had a two-round total of 662 strokes. The rest of the top five were Tri-State (Ind.) University, 687; North Central (Ill.) College, 724; Albion College, 746; and Hope College, 746. Raquel Hansen earned medalist honors with a 152 (77-75).
Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) posted a 164 (80-84) to lead Olivet. After shooting an 87 yesterday, junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) improved by nine strokes today for a two-round total of 166 strokes. Freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) also had a 166 (80-86). Junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) was a stroke behind with a 167 (85-82). Sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca) rounded out the Comet starting five with a 176 (86-90).
In addition, three Olivet golfers were being scored as an individual. Sophomore Katie Misko (Alma) topped this group with a 176 (89-87). Senior Jennifer Lambarth (Saline) and freshman Abby Wheeler (Grayling) were next at 180 (87-93) and 187 (90-97), respectively.
The Comets will resume its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule next Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Bucks Run Golf Course in Mt. Pleasant. Alma College is the host, and the action gets under way with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
