Women's golf team wins MIAA Jamboree #1
The defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Olivet College women’s golf team is off to a great start in its pursuit of the 2007 MIAA championship. The Comets carded a 335 team score today at the Milham Park Golf Course to win the MIAA Jamboree #1 by 10 strokes.

Following Olivet were Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 345; Tri-State (Ind.) University, 347; Hope College, 348; and Alma College, 358. The medalist was Saint Mary's Katie O'Brien, who had a 76.
The Comets were led by sophomore Megan Rimmel (Ithaca), who was second in the player standings with an 81. Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) tied for fourth with an 83. Freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) was next with an 85, followed by juniors Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) and Trisha McKim (DeWitt) at 86 and 88, respectively.
Senior Jen Lambarth (Saline) and freshman Abby Wheeler (Grayling) each played as individual scorers, posting an 85 and 87, respectively.
Olivet will next hit the links Tuesday, Sept. 11 for the second MIAA Jamboree, which is being hosted by Tri-State at the Zollner Golf Course.
