Women’s golf team finishes in 11th-place at Ferris State Bulldog Invitational
The Olivet College women’s golf team finished in 11th-place at the Ferris State University Bulldog Invitational at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids. The 10 schools that were ahead of Olivet are NCAA Division II schools. The Comets were first among four NCAA Division III schools.

Olivet posted a two-day total of 683 (341-342) strokes. The host Bulldogs won the invitational with a 616 (309-307), followed by first-round leader University of Indianapolis (302-317=619). Jacqueline Benscoter from Ferris was the medalist with a 144 (74-70).
Junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) paced the Comets with a two-round total of 168 (85-83) strokes. Senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) was one stroke behind with a 169 (83-86). Playing in their first collegiate tournament, freshman Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and Abby Wheeler (Grayling) each had a 174. Junior Trisha McKim (DeWitt) completed Olivet's starting five with a 181 (95-86).
The Comets return to action this Wednesday by participating in the Kalamazoo College Invitational at Milham Park Golf Course. Action gets started with a 2 p.m. shotgun start.
