Olivet College’s Sanders earns NGCA All-Great Lakes Region honors
Olivet College senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) has earned 2007-08 National Golf Coaches’ Association All-Great Lakes Region honors. She was presented with the award at a banquet following the completion of the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships May 16 in Waverly, Iowa.
Olivet College senior Amanda Sanders (Concord) has earned 2007-08 National Golf Coaches' Association All-Great Lakes Region honors. She was presented with the award at a banquet following the completion of the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championships May 16 in Waverly, Iowa.
Sanders helped Olivet finish in 11th-place at the national championships. In addition, Olivet captured its second straight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship during the fall.
Sanders, a two-time first-team All-MIAA selection, posted an 83.43 stroke average in 14 fall rounds and a team-low 82.55 stroke average in 11 spring rounds. For the year, she played 25 rounds and averaged 82.20 strokes. Sanders' lowest round of the year was a 75.
Sanders is the second women's golfer in school history to earn All-Region honors. Last year, junior Lindsay Pipkin (White Lake/Lakeland) was the first-ever recipient.
