UOlivet defeated by Adrian, 69-56

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team suffered a 69-56 loss to Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest tonight at the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first quarter, the Comets led by eight points on two occasions. After the second time at 16-8, the Bulldogs drained a three-pointer to trail by just five points, 16-11, to start the second quarter. Olivet extended its lead to 10 points, 25-15, at the 4:39 mark of the second period. Adrian ended the quarter on a 12-2 run to tie the game at the halftime break.
- Early in the third quarter, there were five lead changes and three tied scores. Following the third tie, 36-36, with 6:21 on the game clock, the Bulldogs used a 14-3 burst to take a double-digit lead. The teams traded points to end the quarter to make the score 52-41 to start the final quarter.
- Adrian extended its lead to as many as 18 points, 61-43, with 6:04 left in the game. Olivet fought back to trim its deficit to nine points in the final minute of the game. The Bulldogs made 4-of-4 free throws to create the 13-point margin of victory.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Kaylee Bush scored a team-leading 12 points.
- Sophomore Christina Malackanich posted a double-double, 11 points and game-best 14 rebounds.
- Senior Lily Connelly had six points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
