UOlivet falls to Alma, 58-44

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team came up short against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College, 58-44, this evening on Hathaway Court and inside the Cutler Event Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets held a four-point lead on two occasions in the first quarter. After the second time at 11-7 at the 3:15 mark, the Scots scored the final four points of the quarter to level the score. Alma took a three-point lead, 18-15, with 5:58 left in the second quarter. Olivet answered with a 5-0 spurt for a 20-18 lead. The Scots closed the quarter with a 7-0 burst to take a 25-20 lead at halftime.
- Alma stretched its advantage to seven points three times in the first five minutes of the third quarter. Olivet closed the gap to four points, 30-26. The Scots outscored the Comets, 9-2, to push their lead to double digits for the first time and at the end of the third quarter, 39-28. Alma maintained at least a 10-point lead for the rest of the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Lily Connelly posted a double-double, 21 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore Kaylee Bush added 13 points, including 9-of-10 shooting from free throw line.
- Sophomore Christina Malackanich blocked four shots.
