Olivet loses at North Park, 92-53

CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team was on the losing end of 92-53 final score to North Park (Ill.) University this afternoon at Carlson Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first quarter, the Vikings seized a four-point lead, 11-7, at the 6:54 mark. The Comets fought back and trailed by one point, 15-14, before a North Park layup made the score, 17-14, at the end of the first period.
- The Vikings scored the first eight points of the second quarter to gain a double-digit lead, 25-14. Olivet answered with a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to cut its deficit down to three points, 27-24. North Park scored the final five points of the quarter for a 32-24 advantage at the halftime break.
- North Park outscored the Comets, 32-11, in the third quarter to see its lead swell to 29 points (64-35) to begin the fourth quarter. The Vikings kept the offensive pressure in the fourth quarter, gaining their largest lead of the game at 41 points.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Anna Honnen scored a team-high 14 points.
- Sophomore Madalynn Terry joined her in double figures with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the arc. The 12 points matches her career high. Ironically, Terry was also 4-of-7 from three-point territory on December 19, 2024, against Mount Mary (Wis.) University.
- Sophomore Christina Malackanich added nine points.
- Senior Lily Connelly grabbed a team-best nine rebounds and dished out three assists.
- Junior Kinsley Hatfield blocked three shots.
UP NEXT
- Olivet is off until Saturday, December 7, when it begins Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play with a home game against Hope College. Tio-off from the Cutler Event Center is scheduled for 3 p.m.
