ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Otterbein (Ohio) University, 68-59, in the opening game of the Trine (Ind.) University / Cameron Hospital Classic inside the MTI Center.

- In the first quarter, there were two lead changes and two tied scores. The Cardinals led 12-9 before a basket by senior Rachel Swartz made the score, 12-11, at the end of the quarter.
- To start the second quarter, Otterbein drained back-to-back three-pointers to extend its lead to seven points, 18-11. Olivet chipped away at the Cardinal lead to trail by only one point twice at 27-26 and 30-29. Otterbein put five of the final seven points on the scoreboard in the second quarter to lead 35-31 at halftime.
- The Cardinals stretched their lead to as many as eight points, 48-40, with 2:17 remaining in the third period. The teams traded points to make the score 50-42 to start the final quarter.
- Olivet opened the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run to even the score. Otterbein connected on a three-point basket and did not give up the lead for the rest of the game.
- Junior Lily Connelly led Olivet with 14 points and five assists.
- Swartz finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
- Junior Madison Olsen contributed 10 points.
- Katie McCrary scored a game-high 17 points, including 9-of-11 shooting from the free throw line.
- Natalie Galaida also had 17 points.
- Galaida and Kathleen DeCarlo each grabbed seven rebounds.
- The Comets play Edgewood (Wis.) College tomorrow in their second game of the Cameron Hospital Classic, starting at 1 p.m.
