Women’s basketball team stopped by Kalamazoo, 66-54
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s basketball team was tripped up by Kalamazoo College, 66-54, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) tonight inside the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team was tripped up by Kalamazoo College, 66-54, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) tonight inside the Cutler Event Center.

- In the first quarter, the Hornets led by 11 points, 18-7, at the 1:23 mark. The Comets scored the final basket of the quarter to trail 18-9. The two teams traded three-pointers to open the second quarter. Kalamazoo extended its lead to 22 points late in the second stanza before a layup for Olivet made the score 41-21 at halftime.
- The Hornets stretched their advantage to as many as 29 points, 54-25, with 4:06 left in the third quarter. The Comets used a 9-2 run to be down by 22 points, 56-34, to start the fourth quarter. Olivet went on to outscore Kalamazoo, 20-10, over the final 10 minutes of the game to create the 66-54 final score.
- Junior Zoee Zatarga scored 11 points, grabbed nine rebounds, blocked two shots and made three steals to lead Olivet.
- Seniors Alicia Bullaro and Logan Kyre, and freshman Clara Shoales contributed 10 points apiece.
- Freshman Courtney Balazs tallied seven points and team-best four steals.
- Laila Vincent posted a double-double, with a game-best 21 points and 12 rebounds.
- Christiana Hunt and Katelyn Tidey each added 12 points.
- Kaelyn Arlington finished with 10 points.
- The Comets wrap-up the 2021-22 season and celebrate Senior Day Saturday when they hosts Alma College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
