Women’s basketball team defeated by Albion, 81-46
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s basketball team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 81-46, this afternoon at the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College, 81-46, this afternoon at the Cutler Event Center.

Records: Albion 6-4 overall, 3-1 MIAA; Olivet 1-6 overall, 1-4 MIAA
- Neither team had a lead larger than two points until the Britons went ahead 9-5 at the 7:10 mark of the opening quarter. The Comets closed the gap back to two points on three occasions. After the last time at 15-13, Albion ended the quarter on an 8-0 run to go up double digits for the first time, 23-13.
- Olivet scored the first five points of the second period to trim their deficit in half. The Britons then finished the quarter on a 22-3 spurt for a 45-21 halftime advantage. The Comets would not get any closer for the rest of the game.
- Senior DeeDee Post scored a team-best 11 points.
- Sophomore Rachel Swartz started for the first time this season, and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
- Elena Welker tallied a game-best 18 points.
- Rain Hinton had 10 points.
- Amanda Larson recorded 14 rebounds.
- Lauren Reed collected 11 rebounds.
- Olivet wraps-up the regular season portion of its schedule with two games next week. On Wednesday night, the Comets host Alma College at 7 p.m., and on Saturday, they travel to play Calvin University at 3 p.m.
