Women’s basketball team drops 81-36 decision at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women's basketball team dropped an 81-36 decision to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Trine (Ind.) University today at the MTI Center. The Thunder are ranked No. 6 in this week's D3hoops.com Top 15 poll.

• Olivet led 3-0 before the Thunder scored six straight points. The Comets tied the game at 6-6 after freshman Kaycee Shannon made a free throw to complete an "old-fashioned" three-point play. Trine had a 16-6 run over the final 5:11 of the quarter for a 22-12 advantage to start the second period. The Thunder outscored the Comets in each of the three quarters – 17-6 in the second, 22-11 in the third and 20-7 in the fourth.

• Sophomore Brianna Alexander was the lone Olivet player to reach double figures in the scoring column, as she had 12 points.
• Sophomore Zara Weber tallied six points.
• Shannon grabbed a team-best six rebounds.

• Kayla Wildman led all players with 14 points.
• Kaylee Argyle was next with 10 points off the bench.
• Kelsy Taylor pulled down a game-high eight rebounds.

• The Comets are scheduled to play at Adrian College next Wednesday, February 17, at 7:30 p.m.
