Women’s basketball team loses to No. 5 Hope, 77-41
The Olivet College women’s basketball team fell to nationally-ranked and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leader Hope College, 77-41, this afternoon at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to nationally-ranked and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leader Hope College, 77-41, this afternoon at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet. The Flying Dutch entered the game ranked No. 5 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
Senior Gabrielle Federau (Okemos), junior Stephanie Spehar (South Lyon), junior Caitlin Thilo (Onondaga/Eaton Rapids) and sophomore Olivia Yarrell (Lansing/Sexton) each scored six points to lead Olivet. Freshman Mellissa Bageris (Milford) grabbed a team-leading seven rebounds.
Philana Greene led all scorers with 12 points, as 14 different Hope players scored at least one point. Carrie Snikkers pulled down a seven rebounds.
Olivet will travel to play Trine (Ind.) University Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m.
