Women’s basketball team defeats Bethany (W.Va.), 82-56, at Wilmington College Invitational

College, 82-56, this afternoon in the second day of the Wilmington College Invitational. For her efforts, senior Audrey Graham (Battle Creek/Lakeview) was named to the all-tournament team.

Graham scored 22 points to lead the Comets (2-2). Senior Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) was next with 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Junior Amy Brackenwagen (Grand Ledge) added 10 points.
In the first half, Olivet jumped out to a 9-1 lead and never looked back. At halftime, the Comets held their biggest lead, 35-22. In the second half, Olivet extended its lead to as many as 28 points on two occasions.
For the game, the Comets shot 57.1 percent (28-of-49) from the floor and held the Bison to 31.5 percent (17-of-54) shooting. Olivet out-rebounded Bethany, 42-30. Senior Kenzie Steward (Alma) grabbed a team-high five rebounds.
Lisa Mitchell was the only Bison in double figures with 14 points.
The Comets will next play Wednesday, Nov. 29, when they host Madonna University in their home-opener at 7 p.m.
