Women's basketball team loses to Thiel (Pa.), 69-65, in season-opener
The Olivet College women’s basketball team fell to Thiel (Pa.) College, 69-65, in its season-opener today at the College of Wooster (Ohio) Nan Nichols Tournament. The Comets will play Lake Erie (Ohio) College in tomorrow’s consolation game at 3 p.m.

Senior Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) scored a team-high 25 points. She made nine-of-16 shots, including seven three-pointers, from the floor. Junior Jaime Kowalczyk (Wyandotte/Roosevelt) joined her in double figures with 10 points. Senior Courtney Ivan (Belleville) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Making her first collegiate start, senior Kenzie Steward (Alma) dished out a game-high seven assists.
Following tomorrow's game, Olivet is back in action next Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25-26 when it participates in the Wilmington (Ohio) College Invitational. On Saturday, the Comets play the host Quakers at 6 p.m., and on Sunday, they play Bethany (W.Va.) College at 1 p.m.
