Women’s basketball team ends regular season with an 81-54 victory against Kalamazoo
The Olivet College women’s basketball team celebrated Senior Day with an 81-54 victory against Kalamazoo College this afternoon at the Upton Center in Olivet. The seven seniors combined to score 77 points as Audrey Graham (Battle Creek/Lakeview) led the way with a career-high 35 points.

Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) and Erika Vanderveer (Wyandotte/Roosevelt) joined her in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The Comets (12-11, 9-7 MIAA) led by as many as 14 points on two occasions in the first half, including 42-28 with 2:43 left. At halftime, Olivet had a 45-32 lead. In the second half, the Comets extended their lead to 38 points at the 4:05 mark when Graham made a three-pointer.
Graham made 14-of-23 baskets, including four three-pointers, and three-of-three free throws for her 35 points. Smith had a pair of layups and three triples for her 13 points. Vanderveer's 10 points were a career-high. Senior Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/ Genesee) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, while junior Amy Brackenwagen (Grand Ledge) dished out a game-high seven assists.
The Hornets (3-21, 2-14 MIAA) were led by Kelsea Howell with 15 points. Three Kalamazoo players had six rebounds a piece.
Olivet will now begin preparations for the 2007 MIAA Tournament. The Comets will travel to play Albion College in a quarterfinal game Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
