Women’s basketball team defeats Keystone (Pa.), 93-43, in first round game of Elizabeth Courtyard Cougar Classic
Juniors Audrey Graham (Battle Creek/Lakeview) and Jen O’Neil (Avondale) scored 27 points apiece to lead the Olivet College women’s basketball team to a 93-43 victory over Keystone (Pa.) College. It was a first round game of the Elizabeth Courtyard Cougar Classic, which is being hosted by Kean (N.J.) University.

It was a first round game of the Elizabeth Courtyard Cougar Classic, which is being hosted by Kean (N.J.) University.
The Comets (1-0) advance to the championship game tomorrow at 3 p.m. against the host Cougars. Kean defeated John Jay (N.Y.) College in the other first round game.
Olivet scored the first 16 points of the game, including 10 by Graham. At halftime, the Comets led 48-21. Olivet gradually built its lead in the second half, leading by as many as 56 points, 93-37.
Graham scored her 27 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor and six-of-six from the free throw line. She and junior Tracey Vigrass (Port Huron) shared game-high honors with nine rebounds each. O'Neil connected on 11-of-21 baskets, including three-of-eight three pointers. Junior Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) also reached double figures with 14 points.
Kerry Fallon tallied a team-high 11 points for Keystone. Jessica Kobesky grabbed six rebounds.
Following tomorrow's game, Olivet is idle until Nov. 25-26, when it hosts the annual Comet Classic. Friday's games feature the Comets versus Alverno (Wisc.) College at 5:30 p.m., and Aquinas College versus Rochester College at approximately 7 p.m. Saturday's consolation and championship games are at 1 and 3 p.m., respectively.
