Women's basketball team loses to Adrian, 68-66, in the play-in game of the 2005 MIAA Tournament
The women’s basketball team ended its season with a 68-66 loss to Adrian College tonight in the play-in game of the 2005 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament at the Merillat Center in Adrian. The Lady Comets finish the 2004-05 season with a 7-18 overall record.

In the first half, the Bulldogs (9-16) established a nine-point lead on two occasions with the last time being 17-8 with 11:40 left. After Adrian led 27-20 at the 7:58 mark, the Lady Comets went on a 21-3 run in a span of just over six minutes to take an 11-point lead, 41-30. Olivet held a 41-35 lead at halftime.
The Bulldogs opened the second half with an 11-4 run to take the lead for good at 47-46 lead with 15:56 remaining in the contest. In the closing seconds, the Comets trimmed their deficit to one point.
Senior Emily Fix (New Buffalo/Comstock Park) tallied a team-high 26 points and nine rebounds along with two assists and two steals in 35 minutes. Kari Searles (Marshall) and Stephanie Smith (Waldron/Camden Frontier) joined her in double digits with 11 points apiece. Amy Brackenwagen (Grand Ledge) and Jaime Kowalczyk (Wyandotte-Roosevelt) grabbed six rebounds each.
Amanda Rainsberger led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Katie Psuate posted a double-double, 11 points and 11 rebounds. Corri Helldobler also added 11 points and Jessie Borowiak chipped in with 10 points.
