The women's basketball team dropped a 78-64 decision at non-conference foe Spring Arbor University this afternoon.
Freshman Amy Brackenwagen (Grand Ledge) came off the bench and scored 13 points for the Lady Comets (5-5). Juniors Gina Willard (Casnovia/Kent City) and Kari Searles (Marshall) contributed 11 points apiece. Brackenwagen and sophomore Cassie Monette (Holt) had four rebounds each.
The Cougars (8-6) were led by Kristin Van Valin with a game-high 24 points. She also tallied four rebounds, two assists, five steals and eight blocks in 34 minutes. April Bennett and Amanda Salisbury chipped in with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
Olivet is now idle until Tuesday, Dec. 28, when it hosts the University of Windsor. Tip-off from the Upton Center is 8 p.m.
