Searles named MIAA Player of the Week
Olivet College junior guard Kari Searles (Marshall High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Searles and the Lady Comets had a 3-0 record last week, including two victories in their own Comet Classic Nov. 27-28.

Searles scored nine points in an 81-45 win over Marygrove College Nov. 23.
During the two games of the Comet Classic, Searles tallied 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Searles made eight-of-15 field goals, including four-of-seven from behind the three-point arc. She helped Olivet to a 58-50 win over Concordia University and a 64-49 victory over Division II Northwood University. Against Northwood, Searles scored 19 points. For her efforts, she was selected as the tournament's most valuable player.
The Comets (4-1), under fourth-year Head Coach Deanna Richard, will host Saint Mary's (Ind.) College to open Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Saturday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m.
