The Olivet College women's basketball team defeated non-league foe Bluffton (Ohio) College, 76-41, tonight at the Upton Center. In the game, the Lady Comets (5-5) made 28-of-62 shots, including 14-of-30 from three-point range.

After a 4-4 tie at the 16:25 mark, the Comets scored and never relinquished their lead for the rest of the game. Olivet led by as many as 25 points with 23 seconds remaining in the opening half. In the second half, the Comets extended their lead to 36 points twice.
Leading the way for Olivet was senior guard Molly Lipton (Ann Arbor/Pioneer High School) with a career-high 31 points. She made 11-of-20 shots from the floor with seven three-pointers. Junior Essence Porter (Battle Creek Central High School) came off the bench to score 13 points. Junior guard Emily Fix (New Buffalo/Comstock Park High School) contributed 11 points. Sophomore center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genessee High School) had a team-best eight rebounds.
Olivet will next be in action when it resumes Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play at Adrian College on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 3 p.m.
Tanya Rickenberg led the Beavers with 15 points. She was followed by Karin Shaller with 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
