Women’s Basketball Team Falls to Adrian College, 80-70

ADRIAN, MICH. – Freshman center Amanda Johnston (Mt. Morris/Genesee High School) scored a career-high 15 points tonight but it was not enough as the Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Adrian College, 80-70.
In the first half, the Lady Comets (5-9, 0-3 MIAA) jumped out to a six-point lead before the Lady Bulldogs rebounded to tie the score. Olivet then took a 37-33 lead at halftime when junior guard Kim Strange (Ellsworth High School) made a three-pointer with two seconds left.
Olivet led by six points at 62-56 with 5:40 remaining in the contest. The Bulldogs closed the game with a 24-8 run for the victory.
Senior three-time All-MIAA forward Louisa Grill (Williamston High School) joined Johnston in double figures with 14 points. She also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Strange contributed 11 points.
Lisa Butts paced Adrian (8-6, 1-2) with a game-high 19 points. Amanda Rainsberger came off the bench to score 16 points on eight-of-10 shooting.The Comets will next be in action when they host Alma College this Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Upton Center at 3 p.m.
