Olivet College Adds Three Discipline Specialists to The Clay Target Roster
OLIVET, Mich. – Three incoming freshmen at Olivet College have made a significant impact to the Clay Target Team in their first taste of Collegiate competition.
OLIVET, Mich. – Three incoming freshmen at Olivet College have made a significant impact to the Clay Target Team in their first taste of Collegiate competition. Clayton Hamilton, a graduate from Harper Creek High School in Michigan was brought on as an American Trap Specialist and has been pivotal in elevating the competitiveness of the team in this discipline. Having started shooting trap at an early age in the Scholastic Clay Target Program, Clayton brings years of knowledge and experience with him to help the Comets.
Levi Neuhaus was recruited to the Clay Target Team as an American Skeet specialist. Levi graduated from East Grand Rapids High School and competed as a youth shooter. Also, a long-time alumnus of the Scholastic Clay Target Program with the Kent County Orange Crushers, Levi brings a high level of proficiency in his discipline.
Trever Klotz graduated from Northwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana and was brought on as a sporting clays specialist. Trever has participated in various youth clay shooting programs and brings vast experience to the table that will help the Comet squad build on their past successes and into the future.
The contributions of these three athletes has culminated in great success this fall season. Winning bragging rights to house the first "Gnutey the Gnome" at the annual Olivet vs Michigan State University Shooting Team "Shoot-Out" was a great success. At the SCTP Collegiate Nationals held at the Cardinal Center in Marengo, Ohio; the Comet squad took the fifth-place over-all trophy in a field of 9 other division three institutions.
The team will now pause competitive operations for the winter, looking forward to the spring season and further successes of this young program.
