DELAWARE, Ohio – The University of Olivet softball team was shutout by Ohio Wesleyan University in a non-conference doubleheader, 8-0 and 7-0, this afternoon at Margaret Sagan Field.
- Final Scores: Ohio Wesleyan 8, Olivet 0 (5); Ohio Wesleyan 7, Olivet 0
- Location: Margaret Sagan Field; Delaware, Ohio
- Records: Olivet 0-4 overall, Ohio Wesleyan 2-0 overall
- Ohio Wesleyan scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the second, three runs in the third and two runs in the fourth for the 8-0 win.
- Seniors Brielle Broderick and Meredith Morell had lone hits for the Comets.
- There was no scoring until the fifth inning when the Battling Bishops took advantage of three Olivet errors to push across five unearned runs. Ohio Wesleyan added two more unearned runs in the sixth inning.
- The Comets tallied just four hits, all singles. Recording the hits were Morell, sophomore Mattie Akom as well as freshmen Morgan Rachow and Zola Smith.
- Olivet is now off until Sunday, March 17, when it travels to play Siena Heights University. First pitch from game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
