Olivet College’s Brady named to CSC Academic All-District Softball Team
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Erin Brady has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Softball Team. She is now eligible to earn CSC Academic All-America® honors, where first-, second- and third-teams will be announced on June 6. Brady also earned CSC Academic All-District honors last year.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Erin Brady has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Softball Team. She is now eligible to earn CSC Academic All-America® honors, where first-, second- and third-teams will be announced on June 6. Brady also earned CSC Academic All-District honors last year.
To be named to the Academic All-District team, the student-athlete must be have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a starter or top reserve on her team. For softball, the player must have started 50 percent of her team's games.
An actuarial science major, Brady started all 24 games for the Comets. Half of her starts (12) were at catcher, and the other 12 were split between the infield (one at second base, five at third base, four at shortstop) and outfield (two at leftfield). In addition, Brady batted leadoff in 20 games and in the third spot in the remaining four games. She finished the year with a .311 batting average, while scoring a team-leading 11 runs. Brady hit five doubles and one triple for a .426 slugging percentage.
Off the softball field, Brady is a member of Sigma Beta (sorority), Gamma Iota Sigma (insurance academic fraternity) and Sigma Zeta (math and science honors society). She recently received the Presidential Distinguished Medal for being on the top graduating seniors in 2023. Brady will be a four-time Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll recipient.
