GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team was defeated by Calvin University, 8-0 and 18-0, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader today at the Calvin Softball Field.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Knights scored four runs in the first inning, followed by single runs in each of the next four innings to post the run-rule victory.
- The Comets had just two base runners in the game, as sophomore Malaya Shireman reached base on a single in the second inning and freshman Violet Porter walked in the fifth. Shireman was tagged with the pitching loss.
- Calvin recorded 11 hits. Tory Decker was 2-for-2 with four RBI. Hannah Biddlecome and Kali Yant also collected two hits apiece. Kristen Krause earned the pitching win.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Knights pushed across at least one run in each of the five innings – two in the first, nine in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth and four in the fifth – of the game.
- Olivet was held to one hit – a single by freshman Corina Hernandez in the first inning. Freshman Madison Milot started in the circle and lasted only an inning and one-third to be charged with the loss.
- At the plate, Grace Glass topped Calvin with a 3-for-3 performance. She scored two runs and drove in two runs. Carley Dole notched a team-best four RBI. Lily Gaastra and Sydney Doung tallied three runs apiece. Four pitchers made an appearance in the circle.

- Olivet heads to Ohio tonight for a non-conference doubleheader tomorrow against Baldwin Wallace University. The twin bill is at the Roehm Athletic Complex in Berea, Ohio, and first pitch from game one is at 1 p.m.
