Seven softball players named Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Seven Olivet College softball players have captured Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2021-22 academic year. The honorees are Erin Brady, Brielle Broderick, Jordan Hartman, Emily Keeler, Meredith Morrell, Malaya Shireman and Summer Smith.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Seven Olivet College softball players have captured Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2021-22 academic year. The honorees are Erin Brady, Brielle Broderick, Jordan Hartman, Emily Keeler, Meredith Morell, Malaya Shireman and Summer Smith.
The criteria to be named an Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete is a 3.50 grade point average or higher for the academic year. Olivet's seven honorees are among the 2,227 NCAA Division III student-athletes on the list.
Brady started all 25 games for the Comets in 2022. She posted team-highs in batting average (.422), runs scored (13), hits (27), slugging percentage (.531) and on-base percentage (.465). Broderick started each of the 23 games she played in. She had a .216 batting average, with two home runs among her 11 hits.
Hartman started 18-of-24 games played and scored three runs. Keeler was a starter in 19-of-21 games and finished the year with five hits. Morell started the 22 games she played in. She recorded a .309 batting average, while ranking second on the team with 12 runs scored and third with 17 hits.
Shireman saw action in 18 games, with 17 starts. Smith split her 24 starts around the infield – 10 at second base, nine at third base and five at shortstop. She tallied a .220 batting average, while scoring nine runs.
