OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team closed out the 2022 season with two setbacks in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) twinbill against Kalamazoo College this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

Records: Olivet 2-23 overall, 0-16 MIAA; Kalamazoo 18-10 overall, 5-5 MIAA
- There was no scoring until the third inning when sophomore Brielle Broderick hit a solo home run for the Comets.
- The Hornets pushed across three runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to go ahead 6-1.
- Junior Jessica Barnes blasted a two-run homer in the home half of the sixth.
- Olivet registered seven hits in the game.
- Broderick was 2-for-3.
- Five other players – junior Erin Brady, sophomore Meredith Morell, Barnes, senior Amber Trudeau and sophomore Katie Lenz – each had one hit.
- Lenz was the losing pitcher after surrendering all six runs (five earned) on nine hits in the complete game performance.
- Kelsey Diekman, Amy McNutt and Lucy Hart recorded two hits apiece.
- One of McNutt's hits was three-run homer.
- Sam Moss earned the win in the circle, as she scattered seven hits and struck out five in the complete game effort.
- Kalamazoo pushed across two runs in the second inning before adding five more runs in the third and fourth innings for the run-rule victory.
- Trudeau walked in the second inning for Olivet's only base runner in the game.
- Freshman Malaya Shireman suffered the pitching loss after giving up all 12 runs (three earned) on 11 hits over the first three innings.
- Barnes tossed the final inning.
- Lizzy Rottenberk threw a no-hitter and faced the minimum 15 batters in the game. The only base runner in the game was followed up by a line-out double play to end the inning.
- Hart, Moss and McNutt tallied two hits apiece.
- McNutt scored three runs.
- Hart collected a team-best three RBI.
