ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team came up short against Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader this afternoon at the A.C. Softball Field. The Bulldogs won by scores of 11-0 and 10-1.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team came up short against Adrian College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) doubleheader this afternoon at the A.C. Softball Field. The Bulldogs won by scores of 11-0 and 10-1.

- The Bulldogs scored five runs in the first inning, four runs in the third and two runs in the fourth to seal the run-rule victory.
- Sophomore Brielle Broderick had the lone hit for the Comets.
- Sophomore Katie Lenz suffered the pitching loss, as she surrendered all 11 runs (six earned) on 13 hits.
- From the leadoff spot in the lineup, Hailey DeChalk was 3-for-3.
- Maggie Levelle had two hits and drove in two runs.
- Natalie Mathers earned the win in the circle. She gave up the only hit, while striking out five over the first four innings.
- Adrian plated five runs in the first inning and four more runs in the second for a 10-1 lead.
- Olivet got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning. Junior Erin Brady reached on an error, advanced to second on a wild pitch and hustled around the bases to score on senior Amber Trudeau's batted ball, which was misplayed by the second baseman.
- The Bulldogs capped the scoring in the fifth with a single tally.
- Olivet was limited to two hits – singles by Brady and Lenz.
- Freshman Malaya Shireman was the losing pitcher after yielding the 10 runs (eight earned) on 14 hits.
- Keira Stampfly went 3-for-3 at the plate.
- Katie Connolly hit two doubles, scored two runs and collected four RBI.
- Macee Schang was the winning pitcher, as she tossed the first four innings. She allowed the run, while striking out eight.
- The Comets host Albion College Saturday for two games, starting at 1 p.m.
