ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader, 7-0 and 15-3, to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College today at Dempsey Field.

- The Britons took a 2-0 lead after scoring single runs in the second and third innings.
- Albion extended its lead to 4-0 on a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
- The Britons capped their scoring with a three-run sixth inning.
- Olivet was held to just two hits, a single by freshman Sarah Shevenell and a double by sophomore Kaitlyn Horstdaniel.
- In the circle, Shevenell was the losing pitcher after surrendering all seven runs (five earned) on seven hits over the six innings.
- The Britons tallied seven hits, including 2-for-4 efforts by Skyler Herman and Olivia Palasek.
- Herman drove in three runs.
- Grace Connolly recorded two RBI.
- Palasek scored two runs.
- Ashley Pion threw the complete game, two-hitter to earn the win. She struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.
- Albion took a 7-0 lead after scoring four runs in the first inning, one run in the third and two runs in the fourth.
- Olivet got three runs back in the bottom half of the fourth inning.
- The Britons plated three runs in the fifth and five more runs in the sixth inning for the run-rule victory.
- Olivet finished the game with five hits, all singles and one each for five different players.
- Sophomore Jessica Barnes, junior Karina Marin and freshman Madison Potter drove in one run apiece.
- Freshman Katie Lenz was tagged with the pitching loss after allowing 10 runs on 17 hits over four and one-third innings. She had six strikeouts and zero walks.
- Barnes tossed the final inning and two-thirds, yielding five runs on six hits.
- The Britons registered 23 total hits.
- Palasek was 5-for-5 with five RBI and four runs scored.
- Connolly had four hits and also collected five RBI. Two of her hits were doubles.
- Pion pitched the first three and two-thirds innings to pick-up the win.
- The Comets are at Alma College Friday for MIAA triangular. Olivet faces the host Scots at 12 p.m., followed by a game against Albion.
