OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team hosted Alma College and Trine (Ind.) University today at the Cutler Athletic Complex for non-conference contests. The Comets fell to Trine, 8-1, and Alma, 8-0.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College softball team hosted Alma College and Trine (Ind.) University today at the Cutler Athletic Complex for non-conference contests. The Comets fell to Trine, 8-1, and Alma, 8-0.

Records: Olivet 0-5 overall, Trine 9-4 overall
- Trine scored its first run in the second inning on a solo home run.
- The score stayed 1-0 until the fifth inning when the Thunder exploded for seven runs.
- Olivet was held to three hits.
- Sophomore Kaitlyn Horstdaniel was 2-for-2 with a double and single.
- Freshman Katie Lenz started in the circle, and threw four innings. She gave up seven runs on 11 hits to be charged with the loss.
- Trine collected 12 hits.
- Five players each had two hits.
- Mercede Daugherty recorded two doubles.
- Victoria Porter hit two home runs and drove in four runs.
- Hannah Kampmann earned the win in the circle. She scattered the three hits and struck out six in the complete game performance.

- The Scots took a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
- Batting as the visiting team, the Comets tied the game in the third inning on an RBI-single by Horstdaniel.
- Alma closed out the scoring with a four-run third and three-run fifth.

- The only extra-base hit was a double by sophomore Jessica Barnes.
- Senior Paige Poulter scored the Comets' run.
