Horanburg named MIAA Softball Player of the Week
Olivet College senior first baseman Kim Horanburg (Grand Ledge High School) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Softball Player of the Week. She led the Lady Comets (12-10, 5-5 MIAA) to a perfect 6-0 record last week, including doubleheader sweeps against MIAA foes Kalamazoo and Adrian colleges.

For the week, Horanburg had a .682 batting average (15-of-22) with 12 RBIs and eight runs scored. She was credited with 10 singles, four doubles and a triple for a .955 slugging percentage. Horanburg did not commit an error in 44 chances at first base.
This season, Horanburg tops the team with a .433 batting average, 29 hits, seven doubles, 15 RBIs and .567 slugging percentage.
Olivet will host Saint Mary's (Ind.) College for a MIAA doubleheader tomorrow, April 13, at 3:30 p.m. On Wednesday, the Comets will host Defiance (Ohio) College for a non-league doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
