Softball Team Sweeps Kalamazoo
The Olivet College softball team swept a doubleheader from Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Kalamazoo College. The Lady Comets won the first game, 3-0, and came from behind to win the nightcap, 9-4.

OLIVET, Mich. -- The Olivet College softball team swept a doubleheader from Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Kalamazoo College. The Lady Comets won the first game, 3-0, and came from behind to win the nightcap, 9-4.
In the first game, Olivet (10-11, 4-1 MIAA) junior pitcher Stacey Dulinski (Manistee High School) tossed a gem. She had a no-hitter through four and two-thirds innings before settling for a two-hitter. The Comets jumped out to a 1-0 lead with an unearned run in the third inning. Olivet added two insurance runs in the fifth inning when juniors Kari Munson (Lansing Eastern High School) and Kim Horanburg (Grand Ledge High School) hit back-to-back doubles to drive in a run a piece. Junior Taneisha Pointer (Lansing Everett High School) scored two runs.
In the second game, Olivet led 4-1 before Kalamazoo scored three unearned runs in the fourth inning to tie the score. The Comets then tallied two runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh for the victory.
Dulinski earned the win after pitching the final three and two-thirds innings. She allowed just one base hit. At the plate, junior Theresa Flowers (Waterford/Kettering High School) was three-for-four with two runs scored and a RBI. Horanburg, Munson and Jesse Wrzesinski (Manistee High School) each had two hits.
Olivet will next be in action on Wednesday, April 16, when it travels to play Albion College in a MIAA doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
