Davis breaks school 8K record, men’s cross country team places 27th at NCAA DIII Regional
HOLLAND, Mich. – Led by junior Chris Davis’ school-record 8K time, the Olivet College men’s cross country team finished 27th at the 2022 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet. Hope College hosted the 8K race at the Three Fires Golf Club.

HOLLAND, Mich. – Led by junior Chris Davis' school-record 8K time, the Olivet College men's cross country team finished 27th at the 2022 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet. Hope College hosted the 8K race at the Three Fires Golf Club.
- Location: Three Fires Golf Club; Holland, Michigan
- Team Finish: 28th of 38 schools / 712 points
- John Carroll (Ohio) University captured the team title to earn the region's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship next Saturday at the Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing.
- Alex Phillip from John Carroll was the individual winner, finishing the race in 23:56.5. He won the race by nearly 30 seconds over the runner-up finisher.
- The Comets totaled 712 points. Olivet finished ahead of fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association members Kalamazoo, Alma and Albion colleges.
- Davis' school-record time for the 8K race was 25:19.4 to place 48th of 271 runners. The previous record was 25:31.7 by Bruce Baker on September 23, 2017, at the MIAA Jamboree.
- Senior Chase Mendham finished in 26:36.1.
- Junior Hunter Hillard was next with a personal-best time of 26:46.8.
- Junior Hayden Germain clocked-in at 27:09.4.
- Sophomore Noah Feudi had a season-best time of 28:11.5.
- Freshman Anthony DeVito crossed the finish line in 29:39.1.
- Sophomore Jackson Arkles rounded out Olivet's lineup with a time of 30:15.9.
