Mendham leads men’s cross country team at 2022 season-opening meet
CHARLOTTE, Mich. – Led by senior Chase Mendham’s third-place finish, the Olivet College men’s cross country team kicked-off its 2021 campaign by welcoming six other schools to the Broadway Acres Golf Course in nearby Charlotte, for an unscored meet. Also participating in the meet were three fellow NCAA members – Adrian College, Albion College and Hillsdale College, as well three members of the National Junior College Athletic Association – Jackson College, Lake Michigan College and Lansing Community College (LCC).

CHARLOTTE, Mich. – Led by senior Chase Mendham's third-place finish, the Olivet College men's cross country team kicked-off its 2021 campaign by welcoming six other schools to the Broadway Acres Golf Course in nearby Charlotte, for an unscored meet. Also participating in the meet were three fellow NCAA members – Adrian College, Albion College and Hillsdale College, as well three members of the National Junior College Athletic Association – Jackson College, Lake Michigan College and Lansing Community College (LCC).

- Mendham placed third of 64 runners in the 5K race with a personal-best time of 16:02.50. The only two runners to finish ahead of him were from LCC. Mendham's previous best 5K time was 16:47.0 in his first collegiate cross country race on August 30, 2019.
- Junior Chris Davis was eighth in 16:14.20.
- Juniors Hunter Hillard and Hayden Germain finished 16th and 17th with times of 16:46.50 and 17:01.80. Hillard's time was a personal-best for a 5K race.
- Sophomore Noah Feudi and freshman Anthony DeVito had solid Olivet debuts, crossing the finish line in 18:14.20 and 18:18.20, respectively, to place 36th and 37th.
- The Comets return to action Saturday, September 17, when they compete at the Grand Rapids Community College Raider Invitational. Action starts at 10:45 a.m.
