Cross country teams end season at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ended their seasons today by participating in the 2006 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet. Hanover (Ind.) College hosted the meet at the L.S. Ayres Athletic Complex.

In the men's race, sophomore Thomas Ray (Constantine) placed 80th of 231 runners, covering the eight kilometer course in 27:32.4. Senior Derrick Bean (Quincy) finished with a time of 31:52.3, followed by freshman Thomas Giles (Gobles) in 32:06.4.

In the women's race, sophomore Tami Cahow (Climax/Climax-Scotts) was the highest finisher for Olivet. She finished the run in 27:41.3. Freshman Laura Markin (South Lyon) was next in 28:03.1. Sophomore Jessica Woods (Climax/Climax-Scotts) rounded out the Comet women with a time of 29:09.5.
