UOlivet denied by Adrian in three sets

ADRIAN, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's volleyball team came up short in three sets to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) rival Adrian College this evening at the Merillat Sport & Fitness Center.
THE BASICS
- Final Score: Adrian defeated Olivet 25-13, 25-18, 25-18
- Location: Merillat Sport & Fitness Center; Adrian, Michigan
- Records: Olivet 2-15 overall, 0-3 MCVL; Adrian 5-13 overall, 1-2 MCVL
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs scored the first five points of the opening set and never looked back en route to a 25-13 win.
- In the second set, Adrian led 3-0. The Comets fought back to close the gap to a single point twice, 5-4 and 6-5. The Bulldogs extended their lead to as many as eight points on two occasions, 22-14 and 24-16. Olivet saved two set points before Adrian scored the final point to win the set, 25-18.
- The start of the third set was close. After a 3-3 tie, the Bulldogs put the next three points on the scoreboard. The Comets fought back to trim their deficit to a point at 8-7. Adrian took control of the set with a 4-0 run and went on to win the set by a 25-18 score.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomores Aiden Chamblee and Amarion Lawson each hammered down five kills.
- Sophomore Andy Hok recorded 13 set assists.
- Junior Matthew Tollar collected eight digs, followed by Chamblee and senior Will Mensching with six apiece.
UP NEXT
- The Comets are off until Friday, March 21, when they travel to play Wittenberg (Ohio) University at 7 p.m.
